Draw with Your Drawings

The idea behind Brushy Brush is pretty simple: what if your paintbrush was something you drew yourself? Sketch a little skull, a flower, a weird squiggle, whatever you want. That becomes the thing you paint with. Every stroke stamps your creation along the path.

It's one of those concepts that's hard to explain but immediately makes sense once you try it. You stop thinking about "painting" and start thinking about patterns, repetition, and what shapes look cool when they're layered on top of each other.

How to Use It

Click the brush thumbnail in the bottom toolbar to open the editor. Draw your brush shape using the freehand, line, or shape tools. Pick colors, adjust the stroke width, go wild. When you're happy, hit "Use This Brush" and start painting on the main canvas.

You can also drop in an image. Drag and drop a PNG or JPG onto the canvas, or use the "Add Image" button in the editor. Photos, icons, doodles from other apps, they all work as brushes.

The Sliders

Density controls how tightly packed the stamps are. Crank it up for solid coverage, dial it down for a more scattered, spaced-out feel.
Size is pretty self-explanatory, how big each stamp is.
Swing is the fun one. It makes fast strokes shrink the brush and slow strokes keep it full size, so your speed affects the texture. It gives everything a more organic, hand-drawn quality.

The rotation toggle makes each stamp follow the direction of your stroke. Turn it off for a more uniform, pattern-like effect.

Saving Brushes

Hit the star button to save a brush to your collection. Saved brushes show up in the editor and in the toolbar so you can switch between them quickly. They're stored in your browser, so they'll stick around between sessions.

Presets

There are a bunch of preset brushes to get you started. Skulls, moths, jellyfish, mandalas, and more. They're all drawn procedurally (no images), so they stay crisp at any size. Use them as-is or as a starting point for your own designs.
